Today’s Prayer Challenge: Not Being Ashamed to Honor God Publicly

“14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days.” ~ Colossians 2:14 — 16 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today pledging to never be ashamed of reverencing Your magnificence and glory in public. Father, You have done way too much for us, above and beyond saving our souls, for us to be timid about being affiliated with You in public. Lord, thank You for removing any hesitations we may have and filling us with a boldness for You — not for show or to be seen of men but with all sincerity.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
