“20 And having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreprovable in his sight.” ~ Colossians 1:20 — 22 (KJV)
We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.
Lord, we come with a special prayer today thanking You for giving us the permission to forgive ourselves. Though we realize that sinning is wrong and that we are to repent from — not repeat — wrongs, we are truly grateful that we do not have to live being haunted by our pasts. Thank You, Father, for loving us enough to give us clean slates, and thank You, Father, for walking with us each and every step of the way as we seek to live for You.
It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
