Today’s Prayer Challenge: Following God’s Will & Not Our Own

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” ~ Colossians 1:9 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will help us to focus on Your plan for our lives and not our own plans. Father, may we seek You prior to making any decisions — even those that seem small. Thank You for drawing us near to You through the study of Your Word. Thank You for revealing to us Your wisdom, so we may have spiritual understanding — hence, the knowledge of Your will. Lastly, Father, may we not simply have the knowledge of Your will but the willingness to follow diligently after it.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
