“11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” ~ Philippians 4:11 — 12 (KJV)
We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.
Lord, we come with a special prayer today thanking You for teaching us how to be content — how to rejoice — no matter what state we are in. For, Father, You give us reason. Even when other things or people seek to bring us low, You allow us to prosper. Just when we think our spiritual tank is reaching full, You allow us to experience even more of your strength, mercy, and might. You continue to hold our hand even when we are abounding, for that is actually when we need You most. For all of this, we offer our deepest gratitude. For all of this, we rejoice.
It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
