Today’s Prayer Challenge: Being Willing to Lose in Order to Gain in Christ

“7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.” ~ Philippians 3:7 — 8 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will bless us with a spirit that is willing to make sacrifices and suffer losses for You. May we not get so attached to the thrills and frills of this world that we rank them over Your grace, mercy, power, and might. Father, You giving us salvation is enough all by itself. Nothing else in this world is more important than uplifting Your heavenly kingdom with every part of our being. For, to lose for Your sake is to truly gain.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
