Today’s Prayer Challenge: Taking on the Mind of Christ

“5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” ~ Philippians 2:5 — 8 (KJV)

Dear Lord,We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.Lord, we come with a special prayer today thanking You for not only teaching us the importance of practicing selflessness and humility but for also showing — by Your own example — how to do it. Father, in and of ourselves, we cannot achieve such character without You, so we ask that you create in us a new mind like unto that of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord for stirring in us the desire to serve others just as Christ modeled for us. Thank You, Father, for helping us to set our pride aside and make glorifying You — not ourselves — our top priority.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
