Today’s Prayer Challenge: Using the Helmet of Salvation to Guard Against Doubt

“17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” ~ Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that we will put on the helmet of salvation. Yes, salvation is a matter of the soul but also has very much to do with our heads. Sometimes, Father, we allow doubts to creep into our minds and tug at the tethers of what we know to be a secure truth in our hearts — that our souls are indeed safe with You. So, Lord we thank You not only for the confidence of Your saving grace that we have in our hearts but for also manifesting that assurance in equal or greater measure within our heads.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
