Do you have on your helmet of salvation? If we never did it in the past, these past few days have taught us to gird our loins with truth, protect our chests with righteousness, cover our feet with peace, and guard whatever is within our reach with the shield of faith. This brings us to our key text coming out of Ephesians 6:14 — 17 (KJV), and we are going to take a special look at the “a” portion of verse 17. The Word of the Lord reads:
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
