Today’s Prayer Challenge: Using My Shield of Faith as First of Line Defense

“16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” ~ Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will help us to use the power of the shield of faith as our first line of defense against enemy attacks. Yes, we have the invincible protection you provide us through the truth that girds our loins, righteousness that guards our chests, and peaces that covers our feet. But Father, if we had simply exercised our faith, we could have — through the power of your might — prevented some of the blows to our breastplates that we have experienced in the past. Let us from this day forward recognize and utilize the strength we have when we trust in You.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
