Today’s Prayer Challenge: Righteousness As My Breastplate & Life

“14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness” ~ Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that we will not only put on the breastplate of righteousness but live righteously. Thank You, Father, for helping us to realize that it is not the mere acquisition of truth but the practice of truth that makes for righteous living. Your Word specially places righteousness over our chests — our lungs and our hearts. May we breathe Your Word and make it the blood that pumps through our veins. It is both the giver of life and the protection of life, and it is for that we thank You.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
