Today’s Prayer Challenge: Filling My Heart With Spiritual Songs

Penn-Speaks-Prayer-Challenge

“18b …but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;” ~ Ephesians 5:18b — 19 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will stir in us a joyous song in our hearts every morning of everyday. May we do as Apostle Paul said and speak to ourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Your Word also tells us that faith comes by hearing, and we long to hear Your voice alone. May we not see reading Your Word as a burden but as a delight that we look forward to everyday. Let us meditate on Your scriptures and savor every word.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
