Today’s Prayer Challenge: Gratefulness That Salvation Rests in God’s Hands & Not Our Own

“4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by grace ye are saved; 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.” ~ Ephesians 2:4 — 9 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today thanking You that the safety of our souls rests in Your hands and not ours. We thank You that our salvation does not depend on the level of our greatness or how many good or righteous works we can achieve, for we would surely fall short. That said, Lord, thank You for helping us to grow in our relationship with You. May we not simply take and never give back to You. May we live our lives in such a way that all of our actions glorify You, make You proud, and serve as a good representation of You as our Heavenly Father.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
