Today’s Prayer Challenge: Conceptualizing The Priceless Benefits of Being God’s Heirs

“7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” ~ Galatians 4:7 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that we will fully understand and appreciate what it means to be heirs of Your kingdom. Better than being heirs to any earthly estate is being heirs to the priceless wealth of Your joy, peace, and heavenly riches. While money cannot bring happiness, Father, only You can give us joy that cannot be tainted by the moods and actions of others. Whereas money can buy security systems for our homes, only You can replace our fears with peace that surpasses all  understanding. Although You also give us material blessings in addition to spiritual ones, we thank You for storing up our treasures in heaven and not here on earth where they would pass away. Thank you, Lord, for not only welcoming us into Your divine family but for also making us feel right at home.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
