“13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard…18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff…24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.” ~ Proverbs 31:13 — 16, 18, 19, 24 (KJV)
We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.
Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will help us to add value to our marriages by being diligent women of God. Father, thank you for showing us that being a virtuous woman is not only about giving love and care but also about contributing when it comes to providing for our families. Understanding, Lord, that You called men to be the leaders and head providers in households, may we help our husbands — or future husbands — in feeding and clothing our children. Thank You also, Father, for the aspirations You have planted in us and for revealing to us how we can have businesses of our own whether they be large or small — as simple babysitting or selling baked goods or as complex as running a corporation. May we be the virtuous women You called us to be.
It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
