The Seemingly Lost Art of Being a Good Wife: Virtuous Woman Part I

Let’s dive right into our key text coming out of Proverbs 31:10 –12 (KJV). The Word of the Lord reads:

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

“Who can find her?” is right. This breed of woman may be slowly dying in society at large, but it should still be going strong within the Christian community. Ladies, if we want to be treasured, we must act like treasure. (Men need to act right, too, but we’re not talking about them right now.) Yes, we are all precious in the sight of our Heavenly Father. Yes, a man should automatically love you as Christ loved the church. Acting like we are treasure, however, must certainly facilitate this. Otherwise, God would not have taken time in His inspired Word to tell us how to be a good wife.

So, how does one achieve this “acting like treasure” business? The first step to being the virtuous woman is being the one your husband can trust his heart with. Of course, God holds his heart first, but everyone needs someone on this earth that they know genuinely cares about them. That is why God blessed Adam with Eve. And, how do you show your husband that he can trust his heart with you? How do you let your husband know that you are there for him? By doing good to him all the days of your life. I repeat…ALL the days of your life. Now that, my friends, is priceless and definitely worthy of treasuring.

Have a blessed day!
