Today’s Prayer Challenge: Don’t Worry About Seeking Man’s Favor

The Penn Speaks prayer challenge

“Many seek the ruler’s favor, but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.” ~ Proverbs 29:26 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will help us to focus on seeking your favor and not that of anyone else — seeking to please You alone and not our friends, family, bosses, or co-workers. You are the ultimate person that we answer to, so we should not find ourselves committing acts that displease You for the sake of pleasing others. Father, Your Word tells us that if we seek first after You and Your kingdom, You will take care of all of our needs.  Lord we know that when we stand by You, You stand by us, and Your favor unlocks doors — here on earth and in heaven – that no man can unlock for us.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
