Today’s Prayer Challenge: Maintaining Excitement for God’s Word

“Happy is the man that feareth always, but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.” ~ Proverbs 28:14 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will help us to fear — respect and act on — Your instruction at all times. May we never close our ears to hearing Your Word or let our eyes grow weary from reading Your instruction. As soon as we let our taste buds tire of feasting upon Your Word, that is when we find ourselves gorging on things that are detrimental to our spiritual well-being. We thank You, Father, for giving us the drive and willpower to feed on Your Word regularly and be just as moved by every bite now as we were when we first accepted You into our hearts.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
