Today’s Prayer Challenge: To Perfect My Praise, as the Fining Pot Perfects Silver

“As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.” ~ Proverbs 27:21 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will help us to perfect of our praise just like the fining pot and the furnace perfect silver and gold by bringing them out of their raw state. Father, let us not just haphazardly praise You when prompted by a preacher or a choir. May we give You pure unadulterated praise from our hearts and not mechanical “hallelujah”s from our heads. Finally Father, please help us to not only glorify You verbally but also through our actions by living a life according to Your Word.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
