Today’s Prayer Challenge: Strength to Look Into the True Reflection of My Heart

“As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.” ~ Proverbs 27:19 (KJV)

Dear Lord,

We first and foremost come to You giving You all the praise, glory, and honor as the one and only true and living God. We thank You for salvation — sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life with You in heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, and we thank You in advance for helping us to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Lord, we come with a special prayer today that You will give us the courage to look into our own hearts and see ourselves for who we really are. May we not get caught up in our actions and the perception that they give. Let us, instead, focus on striving for a pure heart. For, we know that it faulty to give openly but with a grudging spirit. It is faulty to serve in Your temple often but with a bitter heart. So, we ask You, Father, to create in us a clean heart. Please give us the strength to repent — turn away from and not make practice of those actions and attitudes displeasing to You. Thank you for also giving us the spirit of discernment to be able to tell the true nature of others — not by their actions but by their heart.

It is in the magnificent name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
