Hello All Christian News Family!
That back stabber just got another promotion. You’ve been working honestly for 10 years, and you’ve yet to rise in the ranks. That cheater just got an “A” on his test again. You’ve been slaving away in the library for hours all semester, and you’ve yet to even break a “C.” Bad guys always get away with it, and good guys can never catch a break. That’s what it often looks like from the outside looking in, but the scriptures give us the inside look we so desperately need in order to keep our sanity. This brings us to our key text coming out of Proverbs 11:17 — 21 (KJV). The Word of the Lord reads:
17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul, but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. 18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work, but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. 19 As righteousness tendeth to life, so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. 20 They that are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord, but such as are upright in their way are his delight. 21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Despite what it appears like, the bad guys never get away unscathed. When you do good works, you reap blessings — guaranteed. When you do ill works, you reap bad things — guaranteed, “the wicked shall not be unpunished.” Do not be discouraged because God does not make you privy to the lamentations of those who walk unrighteously. You have everything that you need from God to continue down the straight and narrow path with strength — assurance that your diligence in leading an upright life gives you favor with God. Get impatient, and try to snatch a blessing if you like. The Bible promises you that it will slip right through your fingers. This key text is yet another reminder from the Lord that although we may not see it right away, what God has for us, no one can take it away. No one can beat you to your blessings, and no one can cheat you out of your blessings. Keep doing right, and God will do you right.
Have a blessed day!
