Whoa, when was the last time a burglar jumped from behind the backseat your children were riding on? A California mother driving four children to a local park had a heart-attack-moment when “a burglary suspect climbed out of the back of [her] SUV, frightening [the] children and apologizing, ” reports The Grio.
Shannon Carter, the mother, said “her head was spinning.” Almost as soon as they arrived at Morse park’s parking lot, one of the children said, “I see pants,” and Carter said she believes this is when the man popped up. The Grio Reports:
“Once the man showed himself the girls started screaming. ‘They went flying,’ said Shannon. ‘They unbuckled seat belts and came flying forward in hot second.’ Shannon opened the door, letting the girls out. The suspect quickly followed trying to calm the frantic family down. ‘I am not going to hurt you, I am not going to hurt you. I will not hurt you, he said it four or five times,’ Shannon recounted what the man said to her as he left the vehicle.”
The man asked Carter not to call 911, but of course she did just the opposite. Sure enough, The Grio reports that the “Sacramento County Sheriff’s department confirmed they were looking for a burglary suspect in the neighborhood where Shannon lives.” Carter thinks that the suspect slipped into her vehicle when she left the garage door open at her home.
