Police said that on Saturday afternoon, 21-year-old Jasmine Brown was found dead and nude beneath a tree in Stamford, Connecticut. This young lady who is originally from New Orleans, was an aspiring fashion designer studying at the Art Institute of New York City. On this particular weekend, however, she was visiting her boyfriend in Connecticut according to her family.
The Associtated Press reports that “[Brown’s] clothes were found about 25 feet above her in the tree, police said, and they believe she either fell or jumped to her death on Saturday afternoon. Police told the newspaper they believe the woman was the same person that a priest reported seeing hugging and striking a statue earlier Saturday, several blocks away outside St. Benedict’s Church.” Authorities are trying to see if drugs were in any way related to her death, and police are currently waiting on autopsy results. The Associated Press also reports that Brown’s family “told the Advocate that Brown did not use drugs.” Brown’s great aunt by the name of Willene Coleman shared with the Advocate, “We know she didn’t do any drugs…We’re worried that it might be some kind of date rape drug.”
