Recently it was reported that high school student and football star Isayah Muller was killed in Bronx, NY, within the hours following his graduation. Now reports are saying that 40-year-old Andre Muller, father of the 19-year-old, has been arraigned as of Wednesday afternoon. Good Day New York reports police Comminissioner Ray Kelly saying, “What a tragedy. [Andre] Muller was the aggressor.” The father had a Bronx court hearing on Wednesday and was charged with felony assault, misdemeanor assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. His bail was set at $10,000.

The Root reports that “Isayah Muller, who led Truman High School to the city championship last fall, had attended the ceremony with his dad, mom and girlfriend at Lehman College on Tuesday and then went to retrieve their car. It is alleged that Andre Muller then accused the parking attendants of stealing [a $200 bottle of cologne] from the family car, leading to the altercation.” Kelly says that Andre bashed a parking attendant with a shovel while another attendant took out a shank and stabbed Isayah who was also participating in the brawl.

The student took a fatal stab wound to the chest, and was driven by his father to a medical clinic. From there he was transfered to a local hospital where he died. According to The Root, “Police are investigating whether the attendants acted in self-defense.”
