Terrell Owens Injury & Retirement Rumor Answered

by Ayvaunnn Penn, Your Black World

Recently there have been rumors saying that NFL player Terrell Owens tore his ACL while shooting his reality TV show and was planning on retiring. Whereas two thirds of the rumor was untrue, one third of it was accurate. ESPN reports that “the agent for Terrell Owens confirmed Tuesday that the receiver had surgery to repair a torn ACL this offseason but said his client will be ready for the 2011 season and is not considering retirement.”

Drew Rosenhaus, Owens’ agent, told ESPN that Owens’ injury did not occur while filming for his VH1 television show, but he would not say how the injury occurred. Rosenhaus added that Owens had his surgery in April and will be ready to play football come August. Specifically he stated, “He’s many, many months into his recovery now. He’s doing fantastic….He is a legendary healer. He comes back from injury faster than anybody I’ve ever seen.”

    • Haha, I like your last name as well. Mr. Penn, I actually have not had the opportunity to see the “Single Ladies” show. My work and educational pursuits keep me quite busy. I’ll try to have a look at it, though. Everyone deserves a rest every now and then.
