Who knows when stars like ex-“Smallville” actor Sam Jones will realize that they are not above the law and will get caught for handling drugs. According to reports from TMZ, federal officials wanted Jones to sit out five years in prison for significant participation in a drug ring. As a part of this ring, Jones had agreed to sell over 10,000 Oxycodone pills. Despite that, the judge found it somewhere in his or her heart to have a lot of mercy on him.
Jones received his sentence yesterday in a Los Angeles federal court. TMZ also reports that “before sentencing…Jones begged the judge for mercy … explaining he’d lost everything — including his dog, his car, and his acting gig on “Blue Mountain State” due to the drug charges.” His whimpering paid off earning him a four year reduction on his would-be prison sentence. Jones only has to serve 366 days of the 5 years federal officials suggested.
