No more planning your parenthood in Wisconsin. The governor of the renowned cheese state — Scott Walker — is reportedly going to sign a budget bill in the near future that will end state and federal funding from a total of nine Planned Parenthood centers in the state. With this move by Gov. Walker, Wisconsin will be the fourth state to terminate funding for Planned Parenthood. They were preceded by Indiana, Kansas, and North Carolina in making the same decision.
According to reports from the Huffington Post, “A Planned Parenthood spokesperson said Wisconsin has never seen an administration more fundamentally opposed to family planning and birth control.” The spokesperson also said that “Walker was the first gubernatorial candidate to seek and win the official endorsement of Pro-Life Wisconsin — a group that considers birth control a form of abortion and opposes sex education for teenagers.”
