Gorgeous Young Model Reveals Her Heart Disease

by Ayvaunn Penn, Your Black World

Heart disease can strike anyone, even beautiful young models like Erica Annise. Although this young lady maintained a healthy diet and exercised regularly, she discovered at the young age of 33 that she has hereditary heart disease.

After the death of her father at the age of 60, she went to the doctor because she thought she was suffering health effects from heartache due to her loss. The doctor had more shocking news for her saying “I’m surprised you haven’t had a heart attack or a stroke by now.” This was how she found out about her own heart disease.

This has not slowed down her modelling career, however. Annise has modeled everything from designer apparel to Cheetos and has posed for D Magazine, JC Penney, Dove, Frito-Lay, and Walmart amongst others. Just because she has not slowed down, it does not mean that life is easy for her. She says, “I smile through it to get to the end of the day, and then I collapse.”

Now age 39, Annise has suffered three mild heart attacks. Her goal is to raise awareness that just because you look healthy, it does not mean that everything is okay inside of her body. In addition to keeping up healthy eating habits and exercising everyday, she checks her blood pressure daily. Her goal is to make the public conscious about keeping up with their health.
