“The harmful effects of concussions and the long-term damage resulting from all head injuries have dominated sports headlines over the last few years, particularly in pro football,” says the Associated Press. Michael Vick, however, is helping to change that as the spokesman for Unequal Technologies. He even took his summer to help pitch and promote Unequal Technologies’ new head-protection product.
On Wednesday, the latter mentioned company released their new product designed to aid in the prevention of concussions and various head injuries. Vick will be sporting this new helmet padding in the upcoming football season. Vick says:
“I haven’t had problems with concussions in the past, knock on wood, so hopefully that won’t happen in the future, but I will wear the padding in the helmet to prevent concussions, and hopefully a lot of players in the league will do the same thing.”
The padding is supposed to be thin, lightweight, yet effective in shock absorbing. Vick is no stranger to Unequal Technologies. He wore their football pads last season. Unequal Technologies’ football gear must not be too shabby, since this football star is ready and willing to not only wear their pads again but more of them.
