Rap star Dr. Dre, born Andre Young, is in hot water for selling his album “The Chronic” without authorization, but he filed to settle the lawsuit just one day before his federal courthouse trial. At a Los Angeles federal court, Dr. Dre’s lawyers filed a notice of settlement on Monday afternoon. Initially, Young was going to have to brave a week-long trial. The latter would have decided what percent of his online album sales he was entitled to.
Currently, the settlement has not been finalized, no details have been released, and Young’s attorneys have no comment.
As of yesterday, “The Chronic” is no longer available on iTunes.
