The Japanese evolutionary scientist, Satoshi Kanazawa, who wrote the incensing Psychology Today article claiming black women are unattractive has just been fired. After removing the scientist from their staff, Psychology Today wrote ColorofChange.org, the biggest African American political organization on the web, to notify them that they fired Kanazawa.
This was not the first time that Kanazawa had angered his readers. Previously, he wrote an article saying that criminals look different than non-criminals. He specifically commented on O.J. Simpson. For incidences such as these, readers emailed their concerns to Kanazawa directly instead of his editors. His latest article about black women being unattractive, however, lit Psychology Today on fire with 75,000 men and women of all races emailing the editors, calling in, and announcing their fury on social websites such as Twitter and Facebook. Psychology Today has also announced that they have new rules to prevent staff writers from releasing inappropriate content in the future.
