  1. This was deep.. reminded me of something I wrote a few years ago called “Ode to a deadbeat” I really like that “take your last name back” and “i deny you”!! Great Poem!! Keep up the good work.. I really miss writing and this motivates me to start back!! I used to be a member of a black poetry website and when the site closed down I pretty much stopped writing.. I loved being able to share my work with others!!! I may have to email you!! 😉

    • Oh I love that title “Ode to a deadbeat.” It’s so poignant! I’m glad you enjoyed my poem. Pick your writing back up. If you are a writer, you were called to do it because you have important things to share with the world. We’re listening, and definitely consider making a submission.
