A black gentleman by the name of Willis Sands saved the life of a toddler who fell 5 stories from a Bronx apartment building yesterday morning. This took place at about 11:30 a.m. on Cruger Avenue. This 35-year-old off-duty paramedic just so happen to be walking past the little shaking body wrapped in a blanket and soaked in a pool of blood. He said he realized that if he did not stabilize the child immediately, she was not going to make it. “My main concern was the head and neck,” he said. “She was bleeding from the head and side of the face.” As paramedics rushed to the scene, Sands was able to quickly stabilize the little girl.
Reportedly, the 2-year-old was playing too close to an open window when she fell to her close encounter with death. Thanks to Sands’ immediate medical attention, she is now recovering at Jacobi Medical Center.
