Beautiful black poem! I wear my hair natural too. But, its society, culture and our self-esteem that feeds us a diet of what black suppose to be. How many more generations of black women will have to suffer before we as black people get it right?
Wonderful poem from Crystal in Oaklahoma. I like that she is stating she has her own identity and cannot be defined by certain characteristics as a human being. I also like that you shared her poem through video, nice technique, fresh and unique.
Thanks Lena, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. This is one of my favorite poets as well.
